Welcome to Farmborough Church Primary School
“An outstanding school” – OFSTED January 2013
“Outstanding” – Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools September 2013
Welcome to Farmborough Church Primary School which is set in the heart of the village, serving the needs of the community and well beyond. Every child here is valued as an individual, and there is a strong Christian ethos of caring and acceptance, recognising and celebrating each child as unique and special. Every child has the opportunity here to take part and succeed in a wide range of activities. As well as receiving a great education, we strive to ensure that our children will have many memorable experiences to look back upon from their primary school years.
This is a friendly and welcoming school community that values everyone within it. We communicate regularly with families and a comprehensive Parent Handbook is available for reading in the 'Parents' section of this website. Working closely in partnership with parents is extremely important to us and our 'open door' policy to enable effective relationships with families is certainly well received. The results of our most recent questionnaire to parents, in June 2018, speak for themselves. Based on the Ofsted Parent View survey, it is clear that parents are overwhelmingly positive, recognising that the school is led and managed well, and that their children are happy, safe and well looked after, making good progress, receiving appropriate homework, and well behaved. Parents feel listened to and that their concerns are taken seriously. Above all, it is extremely pleasing that 100% of parents said that they would recommend Farmborough to other families.
With over 150 successful years behind us, we have always kept the best of village school traditions, such as multiplication tables, phonics and individual reading. We also embrace the future, with exciting projects which bring new technology right into the classroom, building on our strengths in computing to enhance pupils' learning. We believe learning should be 'joined up', so we teach through topics, and real life situations, relevant to children. We make full use of our fantastic school grounds and rural location, including 'Forest School' activities on site for all children at some point during each year. Learning is a partnership and pupils are taught to recognise their own next steps in learning and work towards them, through setting targets together.
This school works in partnership with families and with the wider community. Many people choose to volunteer here, and become valued members of our staff team, after careful DBS checks. This enriches the opportunities all our children enjoy.
With a thriving Breakfast Club and After School Club on site, along with the local pre-school, we are able to offer wrap around day care from 7.45am to 5.30pm, from the age of three.
Do please come and look round our school. This is a school that really cares about each child, working in partnership with parents to ensure that they achieve in every way. Our academic results are extremely good and our pupils make very good progress here. Even more important though, is our commitment to care for your child and to help him or her grow up into a happy and confident young person, able to respond to the challenges of tomorrow.
We have a superb staff team in place, and wonderful children. We look forward to meeting you.
