Farmborough Church Primary School praised in latest OFSTED Report.
Pupils at Farmborough Church Primary School “meet the school’s high expectations set for them” and “are well prepared for life in modern Britain” according to its latest OFSTED report.
The inspection, which took place in November, also praised the village school for its ambitious curriculum and the caring relationships between staff and pupils. Inspectors noted that “Pupils are safe and know that any concerns will be listened to and acted upon” and “All pupils feel that they belong.”
It’s no surprise that the school where children’s author Dick King-Smith once taught was also praised for encouraging a love of reading amongst its pupils. In particular, the report stated:
“They [staff] read to pupils in a way that engages and excites them… pupils are supported to become confident, fluent readers. They develop a love of reading and enjoy a range of fiction and non-fiction books.”
Darren Roberts, Headteacher at Farmborough says:
“The visit by OFSTED has confirmed the caring and supportive nature of our school. It’s particularly pleasing that our wider offer provision for enrichment activities was praised as being exceptional. From extra-curricular clubs, sports activities to the school community choir, inspectors acknowledged how our pupils thrive through these activities, which are supported by our committed and hard-working staff and volunteers.”
OFSTED Inspectors praised the governance at the school. Chair of Governors, Paul Hooton. Says:
“We are delighted that the inspectors have praised the effectiveness of governance at school and how this has impacts positively on all pupils. It’s also good to see them acknowledge that governors have the “skills and expertise to fulfil their roles effectively”.”
Farmborough Church Primary School is one of 18 schools which are supported by The Partnership Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust of primary, first, and special schools across Bath and Somerset. The Trust was also praised for its effectiveness in the OFSTED report.
Emily Massey, CEO of the Trust, says:
“This positive OFSTED report highlights the dedication and hard work of Farmborough’s staff, the Governing Body, and its supportive parent community. Inspectors observed that “Staff appreciate the consideration shown for their workload and well-being,” reflecting the strong support provided by the school’s leadership and governance.”
